Pearce comes from a family of athletes. His father, Clint Brown, was a 1st baseman and relief pitcher for Ricks Junior College in Rexburg, Idaho (1993-1994). He played under Coach Jerry Schlegelmelch. He also was a pitcher at Brigham Young University in 1996 to 1997, playing under Coach Pullins and Coach Noel. Pearce's Uncle, Leroy Brown, also played at Ricks Junior College (1991, 1994) and was an All-WAC Center Fielder at Brigham Young University from 1994 to 1995. Hi Uncle, Trent Brown, was recruited to play baseball in college. His mother, Paige Brown, played three sports in High School, and played on Men's intramural teams at Ricks Junior College and Brigham Young University. Athleticism is in his blood.
Pearce was a three sport star in basketball, football and baseball. He was destined to be a great athlete in any of these sports. However, in Junior High he made the decision to focus all his efforts on baseball.
Pearce hits weekly with Dave Hansen, renown hitting coach for the Padres, Angels and Dodgers. Dave was known for his utility prowess for almost two decades in the Major Leagues. His guidance and advice has helped Pearce significantly.
